Introduction to Data Analytics

Introduction:

This training is designed for learners who want to improve their knowledge and skills of data analytics. It will support learners in a number of sectors and job roles where an understanding of data analytics is required. This qualification is also a stepping stone to more advanced qualifications related to Data Analytics.

Objectives:

• To develop data analytics understanding, confidence and skills
• To provide opportunities to practice and acquire relevant practical and technical skills
• To complete a work-based project to demonstrate application of data analysis

Content and assessment:

Learners will be required to successfully complete the following mandatory units in order to complete the training and obtain the qualification:

1. Introduction to data analysis
2. The role of a data analyst
3. Collection, processing, and preparation of data
4. Interpretation of data
5. Communication and presentation of data

The training will be internally assessed via a portfolio of evidence which can include write-ups, presentations and different activities based on Excel. The portfolio will also be externally quality assured.

Duration:

• The training will be conducted via online tutor-led distance learning sessions
• There will be 8 x 3 hour sessions delivered over a one to two-month period to suit the business
• The training also includes a work-based project which will be presented and assessed at the end of the programme

Cost:

£1,200 per head. Includes registration and certification.

Government funding may be available.

Entry requirements:  A basic understanding of Excel and mathematics
