Summary: Introducing Data Analytics into the audit team places a new skills requirement on auditors and can introduce ambiguity over responsibilities. This interactive course explains the need for auditors to adopt Data Analytics, clarifies roles and responsibilities within a data enabled audit team, it ‘jargon-busts’ and upskills auditors to be able to “talk data” and to undertake routine/common Data Analysis (using Excel or an Audit Analytics tool).

Summary: Introducing Data Analytics into your audit team is not just a case of acquiring analytics software. This course will provide new designated Internal Audit analysts with the necessary knowledge of data, analytics and how these apply to an Internal Audit environment, as well as data analysis (sourcing, validating, transforming and analysis) and visualisation skills (using Excel or an Audit Analytics tool) for confident daily and ad hoc data analysis.

Summary: This course is designed for anyone already undertaking data analytics within an internal audit team and looking to formalise and develop their capability. The course will explore key areas such as data sources and formats, documentation, ‘good practice audit analytics processes’ and Continuous Monitoring. Additional content includes, ‘An introduction to SQL’, ‘An Introduction to Power BI’ (for reports, dashboarding and publishing), and discussion/review of other audit analytics tools such as Arbutus Analyzer and IDEA.

Experienced Internal Audit Analytic staff looking to formalise their analytics knowledge Analysts looking to expand the data tools used

Intermediate Excel knowledge
